I’m a Christian that believes Jesus Christ, the Son of the Hebrew God, who sits at the right hand of the Father in the Trinity (The Father, The Son and the Holy Ghost / Spirit). I also believe from having read (a little) scripture from the Holy Bible, that believing is just where it starts. That if a person truly desires to follow Christ and repent (meaning to acknowledge, renounce and turn away from) of his sins, believing instills a desire to follow ALL of the teachings of him. But that’s another much longer post in and of itself, and certainly not one to preach, nor judge…
Whenever I find myself struggling with the belief in God, there’s a couple of things that bring me back to my faith: 1) Evolution cannot be proven as there are no intermittent species available for observation. And, take any one component out of a working system and that system will NOT work, period. Also, mutations only cause destruction. They have never proven to be an improvement in an organism (a lot evolution theory being based on mutations…). Evolution is a faith just like Christianity. We took Christianity out of our schools and replaced it with another religion – Evolution. 2) What would life’s purpose be without something higher than the human existence to serve, or to, at least, acknowledge? We can say, “Well, I just want to do the best I can to provide for my family and just be the best person I can be towards everyone I ever encounter in my lifetime…
I sometimes lean on this movie example: Armageddon (Bruce Willis, Ben Afleck, Liv Tyler – 1998)… Ok, so Bruce is unable to detonate the bomb on the asteroid… what then…? The earth’s population will simply cease to exist… What would be the consequences of this? The answer: nothing. No one would care. No one would be sorry. Humans would just have been removed from existence in the universe… (To be continued)…
