— Daily Journal Entry 016 —
And I WILL get another one at some point in the (hopefully near) future. I did purchase a Squire version to make up for it for the time being, but the one in the featured photo played like butter. Unfortunately, I had to sell it on eBay due to some financial concerns at the time. Thinking back on this, I should’ve kept it. It wasn’t a custom, or even one of the more expensive models. It was barely in the “Made in the USA” category. I think I paid $1250 for it and only got $800-$900 for it. But I didn’t know that the times were going to change so quickly for me, and just needed the money.
I was equally comfortable playing this guitar sitting, or standing. I’m more of a Strat-Guy anyway, but I’m even more of a Jazzmaster-Guy after owning, and playing, one of these. And I’m just referring to the comfortability of it. I play more seated these days, and this guitar stays right where you want it at all times.
It can produce a variety of sounds as well with amazing tonal qualities that are easier to tweak in my humble opinion than some other guitars. And I’m talking about using pedals for the tweaking. I never got to experiment with the weird switches that come with the standard Jazzmaster, or even the ones on my Squire model for that matter, but I will!
