— Daily Journal Entry 010 —
I’ve found over the years that I really like to use cruise control when driving. Even while driving around town in a 35-mile-an-hour zone. It just takes the pressure off of having to look at the speedometer. Unless, of course, you’re not worried about speeding. And, it’s not that I’m “worried” about speeding, but I do prefer to comply with the law, even if I don’t always agree.
There are times when using the cruise control feature on a vehicle can become a little annoying. Have you ever had the cruise set to, let’s say… 70 (or so…) and you’re in the right lane of an interstate going up a hill. Someone decides to pass you (after all, you’re only doing the speed limit, right?…). And as soon as they do, your cruise control decides it needs to kick back in to stay with the set speed. It some cases, it really speeds up making it look like you are deliberately trying to p*ss off the person trying to pass you. The whole time, you’re just wanting to roll down the window and say, “I have my cruise on, sorry!” Maybe, you’re not like that and don’t really give a hoot, and that’s ok. I think I care too much about what others think sometimes.
But getting back to being in town… I find myself using it, almost religiously. I mean if there’s a decently long straight away and not too many traffic lights ahead, the cruise (usually) goes on, especially if I’m able to stay in the right lane. And this (again) is even in a 35-mile-an-hour speed zone.
Until Next Time,

- Note: These “Daily Journal Entries” are part of a mini blog within the main blog where I make every effort to publish a 250+ word post per day on top of the regular, longer posts. The idea is to just create a daily habit of publishing written content. And also, to try and become a better overall writer… We’ll see…
